Author Guidelines

Authors are invited to submit original scholarly manuscripts to Tamsil: Journal of Islamic Studies. Manuscripts must be relevant to the journal's focus and scope and must not have been previously published or simultaneously submitted to another journal.

1. Types of Manuscripts

Tamsil accepts:

  • Original research articles;

  • Conceptual and theoretical articles;

  • Review articles; and

  • Scholarly studies relevant to Islamic Studies.

2. Manuscript Language

Manuscripts may be written in Indonesian or English using clear, academic, and grammatically appropriate language.

3. Manuscript Structure

Research articles should generally contain:

  1. Title

  2. Author's name and affiliation

  3. Corresponding author's email

  4. Abstract

  5. Keywords

  6. Introduction

  7. Literature Review and/or Theoretical Framework

  8. Research Methods

  9. Results and Discussion

  10. Conclusion

  11. Acknowledgements, where applicable

  12. References

The structure may be adjusted according to the nature of the manuscript and research methodology.

4. Formatting

Manuscripts should be prepared using the journal's official template. Authors are required to ensure that manuscripts are properly formatted, including headings, tables, figures, quotations, footnotes, and references.

5. Abstract and Keywords

The abstract should briefly describe the research background, objectives, methods, principal findings, and conclusions. Authors should provide 3–5 keywords that accurately represent the content of the manuscript.

6. References

Authors should use reliable and relevant scholarly sources. References should primarily include recent journal articles, academic books, and other authoritative sources relevant to the topic.

Authors are encouraged to use reference-management software such as Zotero, Mendeley, or EndNote to maintain consistency in citations and references.

7. Originality and Ethical Responsibility

Authors must ensure that submitted manuscripts are original and that all sources, ideas, quotations, data, and other materials obtained from other works are appropriately acknowledged.

Authors are responsible for obtaining permission to reproduce copyrighted material where necessary.

8. Submission

Manuscripts must be submitted electronically through the journal's online submission system. Authors must register as users before submitting a manuscript.

By submitting a manuscript, authors confirm that the work is original, has not been published elsewhere, and is not under consideration by another journal.
