About the Journal

SUBA: Journal of Community Engagement is a scientific journal that publishes scholarly ideas, studies, and outcomes of community engagement activities conducted by academics and partners from diverse disciplinary backgrounds. The journal is published by the Institute for Research and Community Engagement (LPPM) of IAIN Ternate as a platform for disseminating ideas, experiences, innovations, and outcomes of community engagement activities aimed at improving community welfare and empowerment.

SUBA: Journal of Community Engagement has a multidisciplinary scope and addresses a wide range of issues, potentials, challenges, and needs within society. In addition to accommodating contributions from various academic disciplines, the journal places particular emphasis on community engagement activities related to Islamic studies, Islamic education, socio-religious issues, community empowerment based on Islamic values, and the application of science and technology in accordance with Islamic principles.

The community engagement activities published in this journal may involve various community groups, educational institutions, government agencies, socio-religious organizations, private-sector institutions, and other partners. These activities are expected to contribute to the development of community potential, address social problems, enhance community capacity and self-reliance, and strengthen partnerships between higher education institutions and society. In this regard, SUBA: Journal of Community Engagement serves as one of the strategic academic platforms through which IAIN Ternate strengthens the implementation of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education, particularly in the field of community engagement grounded in Islamic values.

In terms of publication, the P-ISSN and E-ISSN of SUBA: Journal of Community Engagement are currently in the process of application and registration. The journal is published twice a year, in June and December. Each issue contains articles reporting community engagement activities that have undergone an editorial selection and review process in accordance with the journal's publication policies and academic standards.

All manuscripts submitted to SUBA: Journal of Community Engagement are initially subjected to a desk review and preliminary manuscript evaluation by the editorial team. This process is intended to assess the manuscript's relevance to the journal's focus and scope, compliance with the prescribed author guidelines, completeness of its academic content, and other technical and editorial requirements. Manuscripts that meet the initial requirements are subsequently forwarded to peer reviewers for further scholarly evaluation in accordance with the journal's editorial and peer-review policies.

Through a continuous and systematic publication process, SUBA: Journal of Community Engagement aims to serve as an academic forum for lecturers, researchers, students, practitioners, government institutions, socio-religious organizations, and community members to document and disseminate good practices and innovations in community engagement. The journal is also expected to strengthen the contribution of IAIN Ternate through LPPM to the development of innovative, participatory, sustainable, and community-oriented engagement programs that integrate academic knowledge, community needs, and Islamic values.
